The following are pictures of student-made posters of mnemonic devices and word problems. Students uploaded photos to edmodo.com to share them with their classmates. They were then tasked with choosing at least three of their classmates’ word problems and solving them. A separate group in Edmodo was created for students to share their solutions. Students were expected to compare their own solutions to those of the groups who had designed the problems and come to a consensus on the correct answer. The posters were used to decorate the classroom to give students further opportunity to view one another’s work, to accommodate for peripheral perception to encourage internalization of the skills detailed on the posters, and to immerse the students in the material we covered in contexts they can relate to. It should also be noted that the activity was differentiated via the Tic-Tac-Toe board method to give some students some choice in the culminating activity of the unit.
